Following a successful practice run in Semester 2, last year, Illaroo Road Public School has been selected to be in the first cohort of NSW schools to undertake the NAPLAN testing online in May 2018.
Last year's Year 3 and 5 students, who all sat for the practice tests, reported that they thought the online testing was better and more enjoyable than the paper and pencil NAPLAN tests they completed in May 2017.
We have confirmed that we have the online capacity to allow the testing to take place and the relevant executive and teaching staff will be well trained in the new procedures. Our students will also be given plenty of opportunity to practice the online testing so that they are very familiar with it when the time comes to do the real tests.

We would also like to invite you to an information session at school next Monday, 12 March at 6pm. This will give you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have and to have a go at the various types of questions the students will be answering.
